MADICK, Michael James, D.D.S. Dr. Michael Madick passed away on October 28, 2004. Mike was born in Kansas City, MO in 1941. He attended UCLA and then the University of California School of Dentistry. This is where he met Barbara, and they married after his graduation in 1965. He was an Air Force dentist for two years before settling in Petaluma where he practiced dentistry for the past 37 years. He and Barbara have been married almost 40 years and have three children, Michael and Gregory Madick and Stephanie Sullivan. He has two grandchildren, Jack and Cali and a son-in-law Major Chris Sullivan, Air Force. He is also survived by his sister Judy Lincoln, brother Terry Madick, and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Mike was a well respected dentist in town and his love of the practice showed in his work and dedication. He was a member and past president of the Local Dental Society and was involved with organizations providing free dental services to those in need. His community was very important to him and he was active and supportive of it in many ways. Over the years he was involved in Little League, Petaluma Youth Soccer and coached both youth soccer and basketball. Mike was a member of St. Vincent's and a past lector and youth group leader. He was an active and long time member of Petaluma Rotary, including a term as president. Mike had a very curious mind and many interests and always enjoyed seeing new places, meeting new people and experiencing new things. Mike loved travel and had the opportunity to visit many wonderful places in his life. He was an avid golfer, cyclist, tennis player, photographer and gardener and had a passion for abalone diving. Mike enjoyed sharing his life with others. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma, CA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 400 N. McDowell Blvd., Petaluma, CA 94954, Petaluma People Services Center, 1500A Petaluma Blvd. So., Petaluma, CA 94952 or to your favorite charity.
