Ralph Leonard Pelton

December 3, 1923 – April 25, 2015

 

Entered into rest on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in Petaluma. Ralph was born in Sebastopol and reared in Petaluma. Beloved husband of the late Helen Pelton. Ralph proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member and past president of both the Petaluma Rotary Club and the S.I.R.S, a member of the Elks Lodge BPOE #901, Masons, and the Petaluma Golf and Country Club. When he was younger he played football for the Petaluma Leghorns as a tackle. He owned and operated South City Market for 45 years with his wife Helen. Loving father of Virginia Pelton and Elizabeth Lopez (Israel). Brother of Marge Spandri (Bill), Courtland Pelton (Mona) and the late Gladys and Bill Caldwell and the late Henry and Betty Pelton. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his caregiver of 3 years, Alina Murphy.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Cypress Hill Memorial Park, 430 Magnolia Avenue, Petaluma, CA. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma, CA. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Petaluma or to Rotary International.
