Rick Van Bebber of Petaluma, CA, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2015. With his family by his bedside, he lost his sudden battle with cancer.

Rick was born April 25, 1955 to Royce and Carolee Van Bebber.

He was a lifelong resident of Petaluma, graduating from Petaluma High School in 1974.

On September 14, 1975 Rick married Karen Everhart. They were happily married for 40 years until her recent passing on July 25, 2015. Rick was the fourth generation of a family owned steel service center, Van Bebber Bros. Inc., which has served the community and the greater Bay Area since 1901.

Rick was known for his active and dedicated involvement in Rotary, along with participating in Interact for several years. Rick enjoyed summer trips with his wife Karen to Hat Creek and traveling to Oregon in their RV to visit his sisters. Rick was very proud of his recently restored 1970 Oldsmobile 442 that he had owned since 1973. Rick had a passion for working with his hands and constructed many unique pieces using metal, wood and stone. He also loved relaxing on his property with his family, friends and dogs.

Rick is survived by his parents, Royce and Carolee Van Bebber; his three children, Royce Van Bebber, Krissy Vaughn and Lindsay McIntyre; many loving grandchildren; his three sisters, Cindy Johnson, Linda Garner, and Cheri Van Bebber who all reside in Oregon.

A celebration of Rick’s life will be held for his family and friends at the Petaluma Golf and Country Club on November 14, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. For more information please contact Lindsay McIntyre at 775-229-2740.
